Q. What is normalization in DBMS? Explain the ACID properties with examples.
Ans. Normalization is the process of organizing data in a database to reduce redundancy and improve data integrity. It divides large tables into smaller ones and defines relationships among them.
ACID properties ensure that database transactions are processed reliably. They include:
1. Atomicity: Ensures that all operations in a transaction are completed successfully. If one part fails, the entire transaction fails and the database state is unchanged.
Example: Inserting an order into an inventory and the payment processing should both succeed or fail together.
2. Consistency: Ensures that a transaction brings the database from one valid state to another, maintaining all defined rules.
Example: If a bank has to maintain a balance of zero or more, a withdrawal that causes a negative balance violates this property.
3. Isolation: Ensures that concurrently executed transactions do not affect each other. Results of a transaction are not visible to other transactions until the transaction is complete.
Example: Two transactions updating the same account balance should not see intermediate results.
4. Durability: Ensures that once a transaction has been committed, it will remain so, even in the event of a power loss or crash.
Example: After a successful payment transaction, the changes are permanently saved in the database.
In conclusion, normalization and ACID properties are key to maintaining the integrity and reliability of a database system.

Q. What are the basic concepts of Cloud Computing? Explain the differences between AWS and Azure with examples of their services.
Ans. Cloud Computing is a model that enables on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources, such as servers, storage, applications, and services. The key concepts include:
1. Service Models
- IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service): Provides virtualized computing resources over the internet. Examples: AWS EC2, Azure Virtual Machines.
- PaaS (Platform as a Service): Provides a platform allowing customers to develop, run, and manage applications without dealing with the infrastructure. Examples: AWS Elastic Beanstalk, Azure App Service.
- SaaS (Software as a Service): Software distribution model in which applications are hosted by a service provider and made available to customers over the internet. Examples: Google Workspace, Microsoft 365.
2. Deployment Models
- Public Cloud: Services are delivered over the public internet. Examples: AWS, Azure.
- Private Cloud: Services are maintained on a private network.
- Hybrid Cloud: A mix of both public and private clouds.
AWS vs Azure
- AWS: Founded by Amazon, it is the largest cloud service provider with a wide range of services.
- Example Services:
- Compute: Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud)
- Storage: Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service)
- Databases: Amazon RDS (Relational Database Service)
- Azure: Microsoft's cloud service platform, it is known for its integration with Microsoft products.
- Example Services:
- Compute: Azure Virtual Machines
- Storage: Azure Blob Storage
- Databases: Azure SQL Database
Conclusion
While both AWS and Azure offer a range of services, the choice between them often depends on existing infrastructure, specific use case requirements, and the organization's familiarity with the respective ecosystems.
