About the Role
SuperKalam is looking for an AI/ML Research Intern who has hands-on experience building machine learning systems, LLM applications, or agentic workflows and wants to work in a fast-paced, high-ownership startup environment.
This is not a theory-focused role. You'll work on production-oriented AI systems, experiment with state-of-the-art models, build intelligent pipelines, and contribute directly to AI features used by students.
What You'll Work On
- Build and improve AI/ML pipelines and workflows
- Develop LLM-powered applications and agentic systems
- Create and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines
- Prepare high-quality datasets in collaboration with content teams
- Research, evaluate, and implement techniques from papers, blogs, and open-source projects
- Run experiments, model evaluations, and fine-tuning workflows
- Explore new AI models, frameworks, and tooling
- Contribute to AI-driven personalization and learning experiences
Requirements
- Previous AI/ML internship experience or strong end-to-end AI projects
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Node.js
- Experience building LLM applications and AI workflows
- Understanding of prompt engineering techniques
- Familiarity with GitHub and collaborative development workflows
- Comfortable working with Google Colab and AI development environments
- Strong problem-solving and research mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with:
- RAG pipelines
- Knowledge graphs
- Agentic workflows and AI agents
- LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar frameworks
- Experience training or fine-tuning models for text, image, or voice applications
- Familiarity with Claude Code, Codex, or AI-assisted development tools
- Basic software engineering knowledge including:
- PostgreSQL
- API design
- Rate limiting
- Security fundamentals
