About the Role
GM is looking for a passionate AI/ML Intern to support engineering and manufacturing teams in developing AI-powered solutions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build prototypes, analyze data, and create intelligent applications that improve efficiency, quality, and business outcomes.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate AI/ML, analytics, and automation solutions for engineering and manufacturing use cases.
- Collaborate with engineers and domain experts to translate business problems into AI-driven solutions.
- Collect, clean, analyze, and visualize structured and unstructured data.
- Build prototypes, proof-of-concepts, dashboards, and automation scripts.
- Assist with machine learning model development, experimentation, validation, and performance evaluation.
- Research emerging AI technologies and industry best practices.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Eligibility
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Computer Science
- Data Science
- Artificial Intelligence
- Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Statistics
- Or a related field.
- Good understanding of machine learning concepts, data preprocessing, and model evaluation.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Familiarity with NumPy, Pandas, SQL, and data visualization techniques.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or cloud-based AI/ML platforms.
- Exposure to Power BI or similar visualization tools.
- Understanding of manufacturing, industrial data, or engineering systems.
- Experience through projects, hackathons, internships, or coursework in AI, machine learning, analytics, or automation.
- Awareness of responsible AI concepts, including bias, governance, and model quality.
