About the Role

GM is looking for a passionate AI/ML Intern to support engineering and manufacturing teams in developing AI-powered solutions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build prototypes, analyze data, and create intelligent applications that improve efficiency, quality, and business outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate AI/ML, analytics, and automation solutions for engineering and manufacturing use cases.
• Collaborate with engineers and domain experts to translate business problems into AI-driven solutions.
• Collect, clean, analyze, and visualize structured and unstructured data.
• Build prototypes, proof-of-concepts, dashboards, and automation scripts.
• Assist with machine learning model development, experimentation, validation, and performance evaluation.
• Research emerging AI technologies and industry best practices.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Eligibility

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
• Computer Science
• Data Science
• Artificial Intelligence
• Mechanical Engineering
• Industrial Engineering
• Manufacturing Engineering
• Statistics
• Or a related field.
• Good understanding of machine learning concepts, data preprocessing, and model evaluation.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Familiarity with NumPy, Pandas, SQL, and data visualization techniques.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or cloud-based AI/ML platforms.
• Exposure to Power BI or similar visualization tools.
• Understanding of manufacturing, industrial data, or engineering systems.
• Experience through projects, hackathons, internships, or coursework in AI, machine learning, analytics, or automation.
• Awareness of responsible AI concepts, including bias, governance, and model quality.
