Location: Lucknow (Hybrid)
Stipend: ₹3,000/month (Fixed) + Up to ₹2,000/month (Performance-based)
Duration: 2–3 Months (Extendable based on performance)
About Bharat Work
Bharat Work is building a technology platform to organize India's informal workforce by connecting workers with meaningful employment opportunities while simplifying hiring for employers. We are building the legal and operational foundation of the company from the ground up.
As a Legal Intern, you will work directly with the founders to establish the company's legal framework, policies, and compliance processes. This is an excellent opportunity for law students or recent graduates who want hands-on startup experience and exposure to employment law, policy drafting, and legal operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and review legal agreements, contracts, and business documents.
- Develop platform policies, including Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and user agreements.
- Create policies and documentation for both workers and recruiters using the platform.
- Assist in drafting HR policies, internal governance documents, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Research and interpret Indian labour laws and regulatory requirements relevant to Bharat Work's operations.
- Support compliance with applicable employment, contractual, and business regulations.
- Maintain legal documentation and ensure proper record management.
- Work closely with the founders to build scalable legal processes for a growing startup.
Eligibility
- Pursuing or recently completed an LL.B., B.A. LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B., or equivalent law degree.
- Strong understanding of Indian labour laws and contract law.
- Excellent legal drafting and research skills.
- Strong written communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Interest in startups, employment law, legal operations, and public impact.
Preferred Skills
- Experience drafting legal agreements or company policies.
- Familiarity with startup legal compliance and business regulations.
- Knowledge of data privacy, platform governance, or employment-related legal frameworks.
- Ability to simplify complex legal concepts into practical policies and SOPs.
