About the Role
As an ML Research Engineer, you'll work on building and improving coding LLMs, inference systems, and AI-powered developer experiences.
Whether joining as an intern or full-time engineer, you'll contribute directly to model training, evaluation, inference optimization, and AI product development. This is a highly technical role for candidates passionate about machine learning, developer tools, and AI research.
What You'll Work On
- Fine-tune and evaluate coding-focused large language models
- Improve model performance, inference speed, and reliability
- Develop AI-powered coding and autocomplete experiences
- Build evaluation frameworks for code generation and developer workflows
- Work on model training pipelines and inference infrastructure
- Collaborate on AI features integrated into JetBrains IDEs
- Research and implement state-of-the-art techniques in LLMs and code intelligence
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Solid understanding of Machine Learning fundamentals
- Strong problem-solving and software engineering abilities
- Interest in LLMs, AI systems, and developer tools
- Ability to build and ship production-quality software
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with machine learning research or model training
- Familiarity with LLM fine-tuning, inference, or evaluation
- Experience with Kotlin, IDE plugins, or developer tooling
- Open-source contributions or significant technical projects
- Background in deep learning, NLP, or code generation systems
