About the Role
As a Student Researcher, you'll work on exploratory research projects focused on solving real-world, large-scale problems.
You'll collaborate with researchers, engineers, and scientists to investigate novel ideas, develop innovative solutions, and contribute to scientific advancements that power future Google products and technologies. Projects vary based on team requirements, research interests, and academic background.

What You'll Do
- Participate in research projects addressing large-scale real-world challenges

- Build prototypes, models, tools, or systems that support research objectives

Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in:
- Computer Science
- Statistics
- Applied Mathematics
- Operations Research
- Economics
- Linguistics
- Biostatistics
- Natural Sciences
- Related technical disciplines
- Experience in at least one area of computer science or computational research
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to studies after the internship
- Experience conducting research through academic projects, labs, internships, or publications
- Publications in conferences, journals, or recognized research venues are a strong advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently on open-ended research problems
Technical Skills
Experience in one or more of the following:
- Python
- Java
- JavaScript
- C/C++
- Machine Learning frameworks and tools
- Statistical analysis and data science workflows
- Research-oriented software development
